Kengo Kimotsuki integrates a research background in functional materials science and extreme coherent optical science at the Institute for Solid State Physics, the University of Tokyo, with advanced software engineering capabilities and expertise in business creation. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of New York General Group, he oversees the execution of global operations and business strategy.
Toward the social implementation of the Group’s vision of “cutting-edge AI (Categorical AI) × the space and energy sectors,” he leads initiatives end-to-end, from developing the theoretical foundations of technology and translating them into front-end applications to building and scaling sustainable business models.
He also has highly practical achievements in business incubation, business growth, and the social implementation and monetization of technology. Across diverse corporate environments, including his previous positions, he has directed the full process of defining requirements, developing, and supporting the implementation of AI-powered systems and business platforms. From small and medium-sized enterprises and startups to listed companies, he has led new business creation from the zero-to-one stage through scaling and growth. Through internally developed systems, he has achieved dramatic improvements in organization-wide productivity and revenue, demonstrating a strong ability to convert technology into tangible economic value.
He also possesses advanced expertise in modern front-end technologies such as TypeScript and React, as well as the integration of various AI APIs, including LLMs. He has a proven track record of translating complex AI architectures into sophisticated UI/UX that users can operate intuitively, and of building numerous robust and scalable products, including CRM systems and business-efficiency platforms.
In addition, he has advanced knowledge of nonlinear analysis and data collection, cultivated through his work as a collaborative researcher at the Institute for Solid State Physics, the University of Tokyo. In the renewable energy field, he has built simulation models based on correlation analyses of meteorological data in solar power generation and on physical and engineering approaches using DNS (Direct Numerical Simulation), tackling complex social challenges through data-driven methods.
